It is done!

The new blog is nearly 100% complete. Will be launching it on Thursday, 21st July 2005, well sometime during the day.

I had:
  • Imported all old blog entries over to the new blog.
  • Transfered all links (don't worry people, I still have your links!) over.
  • All photos still intact with some new ones. Some photos are hosted on my server now.
Pretty much it. Enjoy!

Finished HPHBP!

Finished the book at precisely 9:10pm 16th July 2005.

Wouldn't want to spoil the fun, so I shall not reveal any spoilers.

Just one word: shocking!

HPHBP

Received the long awaited Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince precisely at 9:06am (GMT+10) 16 July 2005. Currently 3 quarters through the book after reading for 5 hours straight since 12:30noon.

It's good.

Will be posting up the photos of the bookshops my friend and I roamed after getting our copies of HPHBP. Till then.

Pottermania, T minus 4 days!

Can't wait for Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince!

Here's a promo poster I saw at the Flinders St. tram stop:

I had already pre-ordered my copy at the nearby Borders Bookstore and I will definitely be joining the crowd when the store opens at 7am, followed by the countdown towards the release at 9:01am (GMT +10hrs).

Let's just hope that those bratty kids don't trample me before I could get my hands on HPHBP.

Peace.

New Site. New layout.

I suppose it's time, to divulge what had I been up to lately.

I had been working on redesigning my blog and also moving it to a personal web host, complete with my own domain name. Currently, I'm still going through the design phase, which is about 70% complete.

The new site will be making is debut towards the end of July before I start school again, in time for Michelle Chong ::Thoughts Galore::'s 1st year anniversary. Do bear with me while I struggle through the coding and also quench my creative juices dry in the design. The process would be slow, due to the fact that I had to learn CSS and PHP coding from scratch.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Relieved

Oh yeah! Grades are back in.

I was sooo worried about the results which were going to be released tomorrow (friday). Perhaps it was the coffee I drank for breakfast this morning, perhaps it was the results, but I can tell you now that all is fine.

Hang on, aren't the results supposed to be out tomorrow? Then I remembered my mentor telling me that on the day before the results are out, the actual results can be ordered via email and voila, the results would be sent by email before it is actually published on the website.

Just in case you are curious,

Code Semester Year Description Mark Grade
431102 1 2005 Digital Systems 1: Fundamentals 081 H1
433171 1 2005 Introduction to Programming 088 H1
620141 1 2005 Mathematics A 092 H1
640121 1 2005 Physics A (Adv) 081 H1
GRADE STANDARD MARK
H1 80 - 100
H2A 75 - 79
H2B 70 - 74
H3 65 - 69
P 50 - 64
N 0 - 49

I initially thought that I could flunk physics, had even read the special consideration and supplementary exams page from end to end, planning my next course of action. Now, I could finally holiday my remaining 2 weeks in peace and continue on with physics B (advanced) next semester.

Godspeed.

I made science!

DFO at Cheltenham

Went to a large and very-hard-to-get-to place known as the Direct Factory Outlet at Cheltenham. The latter description of the said destination is 49.876% due to the ignorance of the girls and I regarding public transport in Melbourne. The remaining reason being that the train system broke down mid-way there [report on the Age] which more or less dampened our spirits.

A chronological overview of the trip:

Started off at Melbourne Central Station
.
.
.

Got stuck at South Yarra
.
.
.

During the wait for the trains to be operational, we got off at Chapel Street and dined at a place with giant chess sets.
.
.
.

Reached Cheltenham Station
.
.
.

After 2 wrong busses and misdirections, we finally reached our destination. Words fail to describe the joy that illuminated our souls at that moment. Ok, so maybe I'm exagerrating, but think of Frodo when he finally dropped the ring into the cracks of Mount Doom.

I concur, bad photography on my part. It was already too dark by the time we got out of there at 5.50pm .

Results from trip:
- Some photos
- Didn't get the shoe I needed
- A 5aud Espirit semi-transparent handbag
- Realisation of the stark contrasts between shopping styles of people
